When Michael Turner was seven years old he had two pet mice. One of
them died and he buried it by the railroad tracks. The next morning on
his way to school he started digging it up. Suddenly he was attacked by
a swarm of wasps. Stung all over he was too ashamed to go to school or
to go back home. All day he walked up and down by the tracks. When
people asked why he wasn't at school, each time he invented a new
excuse or lie. One of them was that he was on a nature assignment from
school to observe animals by the tracks. Animals that only ever came
out when he was alone there.
